PN 1.1 – $169.88
The PN 1.1 answers the call for a softer option in our Performance Narrow line. It has 40-series padding, making it a great choice for riding in thin triathlon-style shorts, or for anyone who simply wants a softer ride. Similar to the other PN saddles, the PN 1.1 is 110mm wide, offering superb thigh and hamstring clearance. This allows for more rider body movement around the seat, and is great for diving into fast corners. Like all ISM saddles, the PN 1.1 is nose-less and designed to remove pressure from soft tissue, ensuring maximum blood flow, no genital numbness, and a healthier, more enjoyable ride.

Customer Reviews of The PN 1.1 Saddle
Very happy with this. Comfortable and prevents the numbness I get with normal saddles in the TT position. Previously had a ISM Road saddle, but find this much softer.
Pros: adjustable, attractive, comfortable, good fit, great value, high quality
I use to have a ISM Time Trial but the more narrow shape of this seat fit me a lot better. Also the softer padding is a good thing.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, good fit
Although I'd got used to the male friendly saddle my road bike came with, I wanted to see if a more comfortable alternative was available for females and this is it! Weird to get used to but once you are it's very comfortable, enough padding and a hole right where it needs to be. Money well spent.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, good fit, high quality, lightweight
Having had the ISM Prologue with the same comfort, I stayed on this brand because it is very comfortable and thinner than the Prologue so it no longer rubs with the km. I recommend it for those looking for absolute comfort and for those who have perineum problems.
Pros: comfortable, durable, excellent value, high quality
Who says no pain is no gain? Wrong. Pain in the groin is gone and gain in comfy milage. It is just a little wide but can get used to it after a while.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, great value, lightweight
ISM has a reputation of being a triathlete's saddle. I can see why but they are not. It takes a while to get the adjustment correct because it is different from a traditional saddle. You should be sitting on the forks at the front, so your weight is transferred further forward & I found the saddle needed to be raised as a result (which is the opposite of the manufacturer's recommendations). I find myself in the drops more often & get into a rhythm more easily than before with a slightly faster cadence, so I am able to maintain faster speeds for longer. On a longer journey I find myself moving back & forth a little to change the pressure point on my sit bones. The only downside is that it is heavier than other saddles I have used. Looks a little unusual but I like this.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, good fit
Cons: limited color choices
Road tested on two 70km rides and my nether regions have remained 100% intact. This seat is wonderful. Bonus, it allows room to lean fully forward into a better racing position. Only downside is that all the pressure is relocated to the pelvic bones on either side of your [moderated content] area - this is noticeable on long rides, however, much less uncomfortable than the [moderated content] smashing, a tradeoff I would make a thousand times over.
Having tried multiple shapes and widths of saddle, all causing severe pain around my sit bones, I decided to give this a go. The pain and loss of blood flow after 50 miles was making me think I'd have to give up riding sportives. It's been something of a revelation. Most people go for these saddles to avoid pain/numbness in the perineum, which it does too, but for me the combination of a flat top surface, narrow body (I have narrow sit bones), and deep, firm padding has enabled me to ride long distances again. Saddles are a very personal thing, so it's hard to give a recommendation, but if all normal saddles have failed you, give this a try. It's expensive, heavy and weird looking, but might just save you.
Pros: comfortable, good fit, high quality
Cons: expensive, heavy
I've always had the Women's Diva Gel Flow Saddle on both my road and triathlon bike, but recently I have been suffering from painful sores on my triathlon bike. So, it was time for a change otherwise my long rides were going to be an uncomfortable experience. Thought I'd try out a split-nose saddle and see what the hype was about. Sooooooooo pleased I did. I'm still getting used to the saddle but all good so far. Only negative: the saddle is quite heavy for those who worry about the weight of their components. I don't! I just want to be comfortable!
Pros: comfortable, good value for money
Cons: quite heavy
As you get older you can experience problems with your prostate from riding high miles. This seat has rid me of the symptoms that developed from high mileage on a standard seat! Highly recommended.
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, durable, high quality
This saddle is great for the long endurance cyclist. I use this saddle on a road bike that is kitted up with tri bars. This saddle allows me to switch between time trial to road bike position without any discomfort.
Bought 4 weeks before Copenhagen IM as I'd never been comfortable on standard saddle for long distance. This was a game changer for me. Could stay in aero position without getting numb in the nether regions and no back pain (ok that's often about position anyway, getting the sweet spot). Even use it in mountains now so it's versatile too.
Pros: comfortable, great value, versatile
Bought this to relieve pressure on the front part of your undercarriage, which it absolutely does, but at the cost of comfort for your derriere! I will now start to source something that can do both.
Pros: durable, high quality, lightweight
Cons: expensive, not enough features
Previously, I had an ISM Prologue saddle. It was great; no chafing, but on longer rides I found the saddle a bit wide. I decided to try the PN 1.1 and, being 20cm more narrow, the discomfort I have encountered on the wider Prologue was gone. The PN 1.1 seems to give me less resistance on each pedal stroke.
Chronic hamstring pain is gone and ITB pain that had been nagging me for a year- gone since I started using this saddle. Feels like I get full use of glutes and hamstrings for the first time in years.
Pros: great
Cons: should be a titanium version of this
Fab, took my sit bones a few rides to adjust but *ahem* everything else - fab very comfortable, took it on a 100 miler last week awesome. Do follow the fitting advice (it goes much farther back) and even the narrow saddle can rub a little but I love it.
Pros: comfortable, high quality
Cons: expensive
Really nice saddle, really comfy. Takes the pressure off my sit bones no numbness. Took a couple of attempts to find the perfect sit position. But well worth it.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, good fit, high quality, lightweight
Cons: expensive
I always suffered from that men's 'problem' of numbness when riding so I decided to give this type of saddle a go - wow, the results was instant and I mean instant. It took a few training rides to get the seat positing right as it's not a straight swap for one saddle to another but once it was right my riding was so much more comfortable. In the past I would ride 30 to 40 minutes before feeling uncomfortable but I did ride London in July doing only two stops one at 48 miles and one at 75 miles and I had no numbness at all. This type of saddle has changed riding experience beyond description.
Pros: comfortable, high quality, great design
Great saddle, very well made. Fully meets my expectations. You can find out more about the ISM concept before purchasing. When the saddle was remounted for the first time, it showed that it would fit, which was also confirmed on the first two rides of 10 + 45 km. Highly Recommend!
Pros: comfortable, good fit, good value for money, high quality
I was recently fitted with a catheter (the joys of getting old!) which made cycling difficult but this saddle has made a world of difference. The gap in the saddle means that there's no pressure on the perineum (soft tissue through which the catheter passes). It does take a few rides to get used to the additional pressure on the 'sit bones' but, "Hey" - good excuse to get out on the bike. HUGE thanks to ISM and Wiggle for getting me cycling in comfort again!
Pros: comfortable, great value, high quality
Cons: bulky
Saddles are a very personal thing. I used the same brand/model of saddle for years but then started getting saddle problems. Tried out various options but the ISM PN 1.1 is definitely worth looking at. Works for me.
Pros: comfortable, durable, great value
I have used the ISM Prologue and ISM Road before moving to the PN 1.1, have always love the Prologue but padding can be a little too firm for my liking. When PN 1.1 was introduced I understood that it has the similar design as the Prologue but 1 level softer. I now enjoy riding my bike more than ever!
I can go above 120km before feeling slight saddle sore comparing to 80km in the past. I have recently stopped riding for over 2 months and had no issue getting back on the saddle. Great product that I will recommend to everyone, but do find the right ISM model for you!
Pros: comfortable, good fit, high quality, great value
Cons: bulky
This saddle is wonderful. Not the kind of thing you instantly feel comfy on when you first try it, but after some getting used to and lots of adjusting you forget it's even there. I was worried about it being too wide as I am 59 kg and skinny but there is plenty of clearance to push it back further (5mm too far forward and you can go from sitting on a cloud to pure agony as it will wedge your hips apart). It took about 150 miles for me to get the perfect setback and I would never go back to traditional slim-nosed saddles again. Its versatility was the clincher for me when choosing between saddles, as it works great in all positions, drops, and bullhorns and works brilliantly when using clip-on tribars. Only downsides are that it's on the heavy side and it squeaks like anything but the latter can be solved with some wd-40. Would highly recommend it overall.
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, good fit, high quality, versatile
Took a gamble on this different style saddle and will never go back. I fitted it as per instructions ie 5mm lower and approx 5cm further back than normal saddles and felt great. Have not had to adjust. Takes a few rides to get used to it - but feels so amazing to ride and not have any pressure at all on your sensitive areas! I feel like I can put a bit more power down as well as you can roll my hips a bit further forward and also allows more symmetrical up-and down piston-like movement of your legs than with a normal saddle where you sit slightly to one side often to remove too much pressure on sensitive areas. If you want to ride safely for many years, ever have kids, ever get any problems with numbness, etc then I'd highly recommend trying these style saddles.
Pros: comfortable
Excellent saddle from a female prospective, was finding I was getting soreness/numbness around soft tissue area, now, no issues at all, worth every penny!! Very colorful in girly pink!! Not just plain ol' boring dark colours to choose from.
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, good fit
Ideal for riding in triathlon or TT position. Does not squeeze or rub soft tissues in the perineum. After riding a regular saddle, the pubic bones of the pelvis will hurt. May rub the inner thighs if it's large but you get used to it. You can go without padded shorts.
This seat is awesome. No more pressure points. Great with tri suit. It took a number of rides before I managed to find the right position even though I had measurements from a previous professional bike fit. Also read and watch the ISM videos on how to setup. It works.
If there is a better bike seat, I haven't found it. Love these seats and have one all my bikes from my Cervelo P2 Time Trail to my purpose built hill climbing Wilier Zero7. No down sides on these seats.
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, durable, good fit
I bought this saddle without the frame for my prepa ppur ironman in Nice. Over very long periods (6 hours and more) it is very effective. In aero position!
Pros: comfortable, excellent value, high quality
With issues that kick in post 50, needed a super saddle, this one does not fail, very comfortable, once you get used to the slightly different sensation to a normal design saddle. Highly recommend.
Pros: comfortable, durable, good fit
Cons: expensive
Great saddle, a little bit odd to fit at first and a bit strange to change your position, but after a few rides it felt brilliant. Perfect for long course races!
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, good fit, high quality
Having a prostate problem I was looking for a saddle for my winter bike that would help me to ride even longer rides (my winter bike has quite a harsh ride). This is the answer to my needs. It is really comfortable on my sit bones and delicate tissue and blood vessels are not restricted. I thought I would feel like I was slipping off the front of the saddle but immediately felt at home on it; it felt totally natural. Padding is firm but deep enough to be comfortable. It looks smart; I replaced the white saddle on my old Boardman with a white version. Following ISM's instructions, setting the saddle up was easy - just remember to take measurements and remember that the padding is thicker than a standard saddle. I will be getting another one for my summer bike.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, high quality
Bought this saddle for my girlfriend, who was finding longer 50+mile rides uncomfortable on stock saddle. This relieved the pressure and was a complete game-changer. She does triathlon, road biking and uses this for both. I think she probably wishes she could use this in her spin classes. Highly recommended.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, high quality
I tried a few saddles before this one, but always ended up struggling home on the verge of tears. This one changed all that, and I breeze home, with all my bits happy, from even the longest rides. The cut-out design means no pressure at the front, and even though it's a bit wider than normal saddles, with a bit of adjustment and a little patience, it's easy to get used to.
Pros: comfortable, high quality
Cons: expensive
I'm a male in my 60's, and most of my riding is on a track bike on the velodromes, for pleasure and in competitions. I have struggled for a long time to find "the right saddle for me" for the so-called aggressive (i.e. low) position needed when spending most of the time "on the drops", without getting numbness and pain in the wrong places. A track cycling buddy recommended the ISM range, and I chose the PN1.1 - Eureka! - Years of cycling discomfort and pain disappeared almost instantly, so much so that I soon bought another PN1.1 for my road bike. The manufacturers are the first to say that the riding position takes a bit of getting used to, and it does, but I quickly got used to it, and have successfully recommended the ISM range to other trackies, male and female. Quite literally a life-changing product!
Pros: comfortable, durable, high quality
Very pleasant saddle for triathlon. I had a problem with numbness in my feet and shoulders. The problem is solved with the ISM saddle.
Pros: comfortable, excellent value
I use this seat for anything from Olympic distance triathlon to ironman bike distances. No numbness or loss of sensation at all while in aero position. It does not do so well when you sit upright. It does rub a bit inside the thighs but much better than most split nose or nose less saddles I've ridden.
Pros: aero position, no numbness, comfortable
Cons: not a good climbing seat, not a good upright position seat
I wish I had purchased this saddle sooner. It has eliminated the soft tissue discomfort so I can actually concentrate on what I am supposed to being doing - pedaling. It has taken a few trials to get the right height. It is also heavier than my initial road seat but comfort outweighs that.
I have been on about 7 rides between 50 and 131 km and I can say that the saddle meets my expectations, it is normal that due to the width at the front it rubs more than the classic ones, which are much narrower at the front ...an anti-chafing cream or Vaseline can remedy the problem, especially on the first few rides. I think it is a good purchase especially for the comfort of the larger hole and the padding.
Pros: comfortable
Exactly the saddle I needed. I have an ISM Adamo Road and a Cobb Max saddle. I needed the very front of the Adamo saddle and the back of the Cobb Max. I found that in between saddle in the ISM PN 1.1. No more chafing, no more discomfort in sit up or in aero position. Very happy.
I had been suffering for a year with the saddle that came standard with my bike and I realized that I should have bought this one sooner. What a difference. Now I'm finally comfortable and my leg doesn't fall asleep nor does the 'front' bother me. Of course, you have to give it time because at first it didn't work out that way for me. After about 200 km things change and today I am delighted. It has been a good investment and I thoroughly enjoy pedaling.
Pros: comfortable, durable, good fit, high quality
It took about a dozen rides to get the setup right and get used to the saddle but it’s now by far the comfiest I’ve ever had - no more out of the saddle efforts for me.
Pros: comfortable, good fit, high quality
Cons: expensive
It took me some time to adjust to this seat, as I was having excruciating sit bones pain, but no soft tissues pain... After a few rides, adjusting the saddle further back and slightly inclined forward, all pain disappeared and I'm riding for 3 and 4 hours.
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, durable
This saddle has changed my riding. It took a bit of getting used to and have to position the saddle slightly differently compared to most but I have no pain or discomfort now.
I was suffering with typical numbness in the old chap after a long ride and have tried lots of different shorts to see if that would help. Lots of my mates have these seats and having run out of the shorts to try I thought I'd give one of these a go. Have to say the first 3-4 times I hated it, but was told to stay with it, and lo and behold it has got better as my seat bones are now used to being sat on. Well worth it and now love it.
Pros: good fit
Cons: takes time to get used to
As a long distance triathlete I am sitting long hours in a tucked down position to maintain aerodynamics as much as possible. For many years with a "normal" saddle, but also looking at ISM saddles and the like as an alternative. Now my next LD was coming on, I decided to take the leap, ordered this ISM saddle and mounted it on my bike. Slightly ignoring the instructions (I did not lower, nor push back as advised since I wanted a bit more aggressive position) I took about six 40 km rides to get used to the saddle. And on my triathlon the saddle performed as it should: good comfort especially for the tender parts. Definitely my old saddle will not come back!
Pros: more space for tender parts, perfect for long distances
Cons: it looks different, slightly wider nose you might get used to
I ordered this saddle after suffering for many weeks after long rides, to the point of bleeding from soreness. Even though I think this saddle was designed for men I had heard that it was great for women too. Went out for the first time with my new saddle this week for a 3 hour ride and was amazed and extremely grateful that I did not suffer with any soreness at all. This saddle is well worth every penny.
Actually, contrary to my expectation, this saddle was not comfortable, hard feel and wider. After adjusting the position it is very comfortable.
Makes a huge difference for time trial bikes, or track bike... If you ride in aggressive position and don't move around a lot. Comfort is everything, and on a 50 mile TT it will be worth its weight in gold! I used Podium too, but PN1.1 is narrower and suits me better.
Pros: comfortable, good fit
Cons: expensive
I bought this saddle in the 16th year, I still ride on it, periodically I try other saddles out of curiosity, but this one still suits me better, my bones get used to it and nothing hurts, even on long distances. It's heavier, yes, but comfort comes at a price.
I have the road and racing ISM saddles and I love the road one but have struggled to get comfy on the racing with my TT bike. I figured it was the width so decided to try the PN when it came out and it's spot on! I have quite narrow hips (29-31") for a tall guy (6ft1in) so I recommend taking the narrow option if you're similar to me.
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, good fit, high quality
Cons: limited color choices, unattractive
Having spent a lot of time looking for the perfect saddle for me, including lots of premium brands I decided, that after some research I would try the ISM PN 1.1. Yes it looks strange with its nose effectively cut off, but follow the mounting instructions on the YouTube site and you will be very impressed. The saddle is quite wide but it is designed to support your sit bones which in turn removes all the pressure from the soft tissue area and absolutely no numbness. An amazing product, take a punt, and you will not be disappointed.
Pros: adjustable, attractive, comfortable, durable, good fit, great value, high quality
Great, has made a huge difference to me with back and lots of pain, took a few times to tweak it to the best position but once you've got it right all women should use these!!!
Before this product was introduced to my cheeks, I was suitably scared of sitting on my saddle each morning for my 13 mile commute; the nose was a danger zone, all pot holes and imperfect road surface adjustments led to armageddon. Now, I can ride for hours whistling to merry tunes ..... Yes the saddle is an adjustment for the seat bones, but that is a small price to pay when the previous saddle was putting my ability to have children into jeopardy.I love this saddle, the hot pink is an acquired taste but I have said taste.
Jump on board!
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, high quality
Cons: expensive
Just thought I would write this to help anyone like me on the long search for comfort in the world of saddles. This saddle is awesome! Takes a bit of getting used to, for me only really a couple of rides but can feel a little wide until you have moved about on it a bit and adjusted it to find the sweet spots. No pressure across your middle crotch area like normal, more pressure on the sit bones but that's where you want it ultimately. This saddle allows you to tuck further forward in the drops too with no added pressure. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side but am so pleased I bought it!!
I have been through many many saddles without any joy...I really debated on whether to spend the extra money on this saddle but after reading many good reviews and experiencing many painful bike rides, I took the plunge and I'm so pleased I did...I ride my bike faster and I'm so much more comfortable. Thoroughly recommended.
Pros: comfortable, good fit, high quality
Cons: expensive
I replaced an ISM Adamo Breakaway saddle with this ISM PN 1.1 because the Breakaway was just too wide and chafed the insides of my thighs badly. After a few rides of 2-3 hours I have found this saddle to be much better. It is far narrower than the Breakaway, still with decent cushion, and the split nose means you can stay seated for extended periods and the usual numbness just doesn't appear. I have this one on a TT bike, but will be changing my road bike saddle to either this model or the ISM Attack when my existing saddle needs replacement.
Pros: attractive, comfortable, good fit, high quality
This saddle is a replacement for my road bike I currently use the attack model on my race bike with no issues and the PN1.1 is the same only with more padding. No numbness fits me well.
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, good fit
Bought this saddle after suffering numbness on long rides, this saddle has enabled me to get on my bike again with no pressure on my undercarriage. A great product and would highly recommend to fellow sufferers.
Pros: comfort
I changed my original saddle (beak) because I had severe numbness on outings of more than 100km, accentuated in aero mode on the extenders (stronger support towards the front). No more worries with this saddle, whatever the positions and duration. It takes a little time at first to get used to the different supports (on the bones), but you get used to it and it's much better. Just look at the number of ISM saddles in triathlon bike parks to be convinced.
Pros: comfortable, high quality
I used to love ISM. And then I hated ISM. I used to have to zip-tie the rails to make it narrow. And then I found the PN 1.1. No more zip-ties. No more love/hate relationship with ISM. While I only have 300 KM (trainer K's) on this saddle to date, I have had no issues whatsoever with this saddle. It's comfortable upright and in aero. It's narrow enough that you can ride it further back if you are in need of a little rest. It has, IMO, the perfect amount of padding for either bike shorts or tri shorts. Can't wait until winter is over so I can test it on the road because, if you have ridden ISM, you may hate it on the trainer but it can be the perfect saddle on the road.
Pros: narrow profile
Until I found ISM I was never entirely comfortable on a bike saddle . Originally I was recommended to try ISM for my triathlon bike , and found it to be fabulous. SO comfortable , even on a long 6 hour ride. I then bought a new TT bike , and retired the old one to a wind trainer - so ISM saddle number 2. That left my road bike , which I use for commuting and shorter training rides, but with the standard MOST saddle rides longer than an hour became extremely uncomfortable. With the ISM saddle fitted I could now ride all day. The ISM PN has made me LOVE my road bike.
Pros: comfortable, great value, high quality
There will be a very short period where your 'sit bones' will need to get used to the two prong seat, but you will be laughing as you will NEVER suffer from groin pain again. For people that do triathlons, this seat is fantastic. I use it on my road bike which I adjusted for triathlon use (i.e shorter stem, inline seat, etc.) and the two prongs allow me to sit further forward for a more aero position. When going uphills or if I want to just ride for normal road bike use, I can sit further back on the seat with no leg rubbing as the PN 1.1 has a narrow width that doesn't get in the way. Highly recommended!
Pros: so comfortable, great value, no groin pain ever again
Cons: heavier than conventional seats (talking in grams)
Bought this for my wife. Completely transformed her comfort level on the bike. No soreness or chafing. Highly recommend it if you suffer from saddle related issues, especially if you have problems with your “lady area”!
Pros: adjustable, comfortable, good fit, high quality
The padding is soft, very good combination with tri-shorts. Very good quality!
I have been using this saddle for seven years now and I will never buy another brand ever again. Extremely comfortable over short or long trips (100km or more), great airflow with minimum contact area really takes the pressure off your bits! However it does take some getting used to as your sit bones hang off the corners of the sponge instead of on top, which will feel a bit unusual at first.
Pros: adjustable, attractive, comfortable, durable, good fit, great value, high quality, lightweight, rugged, versatile
I recently changed from the Factor saddle to this one, couple of reasons for the change the Factor saddle on my Giant Defy was very narrow and on longer rides, got very uncomfortable and also because of the narrowness of the saddle my shorts rubbed in the bracket on the stem and caused holes in my shorts, but this saddle is a lot wider and has stopped all that. It's also great to get off a ride and not feel numb anymore.
Took a while to dial in the position (maybe 7 or 8 rides) but now I can say it's the most comfortable I've ever been on a bike, having been tinkering with my position and saddles for years but never really comfortable. Highly recommended!
Pros: comfortable, good fit
I had previously had problems with longer rides and races. When I dismounted the bike, I would be hit by an intense need to go to the toilet. Rides were uncomfortable and clearly something was getting compressed, especially when using aero bars. The PN1.1 has proven very comfortable during medium and long-distance triathlons and cycles. It is most comfortable when in an aero position. As previous reviewers have noted, it must be set up right to get the most out of it. I had it far too high and far back at first.
Pros: comfortable, durable, high quality
Cons: requires careful set up to get the most out of it
Even better than the ISM road. So comfortable on TT I have already recommended to friends. Only for ISM I probably would have ditched cycling.
