Customer Reviews of The PR 2.0 Saddle
A great product. Well priced for a very good brand. The saddle itself is very comfortable and easy to fit to the bike. Only draw back is a coward to get rear mounted bottle cages that will fit underneath the back lip of the saddle
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Very comfy. The best saddle I have found and believe me I've tried loads. If you suffer with your undercarriage this solves the problem.
Very satisfied with the performance of the product. It is far more comfotably than the regular saddles. I pull through a 90 km bike in a half ironman race without having ever riding for so long before and it felt good. I strogly recomend it. I only wish the price wasn't that much but it for my purpose it was essential.
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
This saddle was recommended to me by my cyclist chiropractor, so expectations were high. I was not disappointed as this is a very comfortable saddle. The best way to describe how this saddle works is to explain that the saddle shape means that your 'sitting bones' are in contact with the nicely padded back of the saddle, whilst the shape of the front of the saddle means that, as my chiropractor put it, your undercarriage is not in contact with the saddle. So in layman's terms, you may, after 100 miles have have a slightly sore behind, but the more sensitive area of your anatomy will not have suffered. So highly recommended.
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality
Have had this saddle for around 6 weeks now and all I can say is i am still the same size after 3 hours in the saddle as when I started. Would definitely recommend for over 45's like me
Pros: Comfortable
This saddle is a prrfect fit for me on flat bar road bike. I have 3 other ism adamo saddles on my other road bikes this is the first time I have used the short version on a bike mainly due to the upright seating position. Fits with a minimum of fuss and have already completed a long day in the saddle no numbness or any other issues.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit
The ISM PR 2.0 is our best selling bike saddle, and we sell over 95 models of saddles. It consistently solves pressure and numbness issues for riders of all types, including road, mountain, and especially triathletes.
A great saddle! Prevents numbness and very comfortable. Took 2-3 rides to get used to it and have no issues now with discomfort etc. A great saddle all round 🙂
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Great Value, High Quality
Excellent product, made a huge difference to the comfort of my tri bike. Prior to this I used a standard saddle which was uncomfortable but this has made it easier to stay on the tri-bars for longer. Highly recommended.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality
Great seat. so comfortable. No numbness. I bought this seat for both my road and time trial bikes.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
I need to send a shout out and a BIG thank you to the great people at ISM for my PR 2.0 saddle. In early 2013, I visited your ISM facility as last ditch effort to find a saddle that was manageable. Comfort wasn’t even a consideration at that point. I just needed to get through long rides without excruciating pain in my private area. I was in such bad shape at that point that I was truly contemplating giving up cycling and my future triathlon plans. It just wasn’t worth the agony during the rides and the pain that remained in the days following. I rode the Breakaway saddle from 2013 until mid of 2015. No question my best years in triathlon. During those two years, I competed in several long course triathlons, including an Ironman. Simply fantastic and ZERO saddle issues. In mid 2015, your PR 2.0 had recently arrived on the market to great reviews. I decided to make the move, although reluctantly as I did not want to spend any time time breaking in a new saddle. Loving my Breakaway saddle also added to that reluctance. Little did I know that I would love the PR 2.0 even more! I had the new saddle installed days before shipping my bike to St. George for Utah 70.3. On one of the toughest, domestic half iron bike courses – and with no time to break in the new saddle – the last of my issues that day was my saddle. In fact, I was 100% comfortable and it was never even a thought. Same goes for my experience at Ironman Lake Placid this past summer. 112 miles is a long time to be on a bike! Again, saddle comfort was never an issue. This saddle is that good. So, at the end of the day, I do not understand why anyone would NOT ride on an ISM saddle. The comfort level simply crushes that of it’s competitors. I wish I could shout it from the roof tops! When your private area is not in pain, everything else is manageable. When the private area is screaming at you, nothing else matters! Thank you ISM for your fantastic saddles, your wonderful customer service and for your continued efforts to bring comfort to your cyclists. You make cycling a better and healthier lifestyle for us all. Keep up the amazing work!
As advertised - it was painful for the first couple of rides as the body adjusted. After that - great saddle.
Pros: Comfortable
Great saddle made a whole change to my long distance riding.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
Fantastic saddle, easy to mount, great comfort, just as soft as I hoped it would be.
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
After trying almost the full range of ISM saddles, found this to be the most comfy for long distance both in the seated and aero position. Needs a bit of adjustment to get that 'just right' position. Must put seat further back and drop down as advised and also tilt nose slightly. Lovely made saddle with just the right amount of padding.
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Limited Color Choices
Once I got the position right it has proved to be very comfortable.
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality
Much more comfy on my Ironman ride. And encourages me to sit in the aero position better too.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit
Brilliant saddle, I have them fitted to all my road bikes, very comfortable, they are good for long distances as I regularly ride 100 miles with no issues at all
Pros: Comfortable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Limited Color Choices
Bought this after wanting to change to a more triathlon type saddle, did a lot of searching and found this for a great price here on Wiggle compared to shops around me. It seems really well made and great cushion, easy to install with a little bit of adjusting versus a regular saddle. At first a bit uncomfortable and needs time to get used to but after that wow no more numb parts and it is very comfortable been out for over 100km rides no problem.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
I am a female cyclist and have been riding road/mtb and touring bikes for years. Have recently been feeling like I has been sitting on razor blades after a few hours cycling, particularly off-road on bumpy terrain. Thought I'd try this after reading about them in Cycling Weekly, think the 2 prong style was recommended by Katie Archibald. Have just done 15 hours over 3 days on trails and apart from feeling a bit bruised on the sit bones (which is tolerable, in my experience like the feeling using a harder Brooks saddle) the unbearable soreness / pain (when peeing) is gone. Its harder than I expected but allows you to move around more - you can move right to the front of it and get relief. It looks a bit odd, but who cares? Am really pleased I bought this and am getting a PN1.1 for the road bike next.
Pros: Comfortable
As advertised - it was painful for the first couple of rides as the body adjusted. After that - great saddle.
Pros: Comfortable
Ladies, if your lady parts are *suffering* even though you' ve changed positions/saddles/women specific saddles/bike shorts/women specific bike shorts/handlebars/handlebar tape/stems etc etc etc and you *still* get sore/numb and/or sores on your private parts after a long bike, stop tormenting yourselves and get an ISM saddle. I've had enough all these years and took a gamble on this saddle without even testing it. The selling point was the preset forward tilt, as I can't stand the entire "ride-OUCH-adjust-ride-OUCHIE-adjust-ride-kinda OK" process. The only thing you need is a bubble level, just make sure you understand that you sit on this saddle further to the back, without messing with your entire bike set up. The only bad thing I can observe is it's a little bulky and the quality of the assembly could be a little better for its cost class, as you can see the staples that hold the seating material stitched on the underside.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit
Cons: Bulky
Ladies, this works just as well for us as it does for men. Completely changed my riding experience for the better. Takes a bit of getting used to fit wise - I've narrow seat bones so dont really need to have all that width and padding out the back but its there if youre wider of hip. Noticed an immediate improvement, now I can really put the hammer down! I was considering packing the sport in due to extreme discomfort, but since fitting this saddle I can honestly say I've not looked back. Took a bit of adjusting as you have to lower the post quite a bit to accommodate the stack height, and it can look like its sitting really far back. But, for the price, it's worth a punt. It's not the best looking saddle in the world, and it's bulky but...performance is not impeded by pain.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value
Cons: Bulky, Low Quality, Unattractive
Highly recommended for Triathlon. Comfortable. Less genital numbness felt when riding.
Pros: easy installation
Dear ISM, I took my first ride on my new ISM PR 2.0 tonight – a half hour on Zwift. I’m 71 years old and rode a good bit in my 30s. Unfortunately I let life get in the way and have hardly rode at all until 2012. I’ve had several bikes and many saddles since then, even a few that I’ve subjectively liked, in particularly the original saddle on my Volagi Liscio… my “forever” bike. Now it is even more so! I have always been aware that I have been riding a bike when I got off. The worst saddles were out and out painful and even the best left me with a bit of discomfort. The ISM was so very different. I set it up exactly to your suggestions, dead level, 50mm further back and 5 mm lower. The bike fit is almost perfect, it may have to go back a bit more but the knee angles and pedal stroke feel perfect. There is no sensation of inner thigh rub at all. You suggest that it might take a bit to get used to it. Psshaw! It took less than a minute to get situated fore and aft and the short session was uneventful unless you consider that it was further, faster, more comfortable and at a higher average power than I had achieved before. There was no numbness or fatigue I normally expect. I expected to give it a month or so and then go back and forth between this and two other saddles I use regularly. That plan is out the window. The ISM is on the Volagi to stay, and the tablet and Bike Fast Fit come out this weekend to tweak the position. Other than that, the forever bike now has a forever saddle.
First time user of the ISM saddle for commuting, and coming from a cushy foam saddle this felt a bit hard initially. But after a couple of weeks in the right setup, it has conformed to me and is very comfortable. The right setup is very important, as from my experience with riding with the wrong setup for a week (saddle too far forward) made it very painful near the inner thigh/hip joint after a few kms. In the right setup, I don't think I will bother searching for another saddle again.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality
A friend had recommended ISM saddles some time ago, and earlier this year, after medical issues I bought one, It enabled me to start riding again. Now after getting it set up correctly I wouldn’t go back. More comfortable, more efficient. Only draw back is that you might find you need one for each bike you have. Recommended.
I can say that if it wasn’t for this saddle the bikes would stay hung in the garage. I got to the point where I could only ride 30 minutes with a more conventional saddle before things just got too numb to enjoy the ride. This saddle was the game changer, younger riders may scoff but wait until you a in your 50, there’s a good chance you’d welcome this one too. My partner uses one too so it’s not just us guys that can benefit!
Pros: Comfortable
My commute time in the saddle has recently increased from 30 minutes to between 50 minutes and 1 hour 15 minutes (depending on the wind direction).
My road bike's standard racing saddle was starting to turn my mid-drift numb after about 40 minutes so I did some research into a replacement and heard some good things about ISM saddles on t'internet. I even used the ISM online guide to select the right saddle for me.
The instruction leaflet that comes with these saddles MUST be read - "instruction manuals are for losers" won't work here and if you give the instructions a quick read and fail to implement their suggestions properly then don't be surprised if this saddle proves to be disappointing however...
Following the ISM guidelines and exercising a good degree of patience (usually 2 to 3 weeks) your body should eventually get used to this saddle and you should begin to notice an improvement in comfort over long distances. But I can't stress enough that patience and perseverance is key.
Other than that, I can't speak more highly of these saddles, they may be pricey but they are actually that good. I'd even go so far as to say that, this is one of those rare instances where paying more does indeed pay off. 🙂
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
Absolutely stoked with this purchase. Thank you. Top quality and affordable.
Perfect for tri-position! Been using this saddle on my tri-bike on a trainer and absolutely no numbness in the genital area!
Pros: good quality, works perfect against numbness
I’m coming back from a multiple lower body injury which include a pelvis break in two places and a broken femur amongst various other injuries. Having lost so much muscle in my legs and backside I found after two outings on my new bike I was very sore. I can now get out and put the mileage into my legs without fear of being in pain with the ISM PR 2.0. I had a spinal injury and the ISM saddle was specific designed to allow blood flow in the penile nerve, eradicating many of the issues that a standard saddle can cause. A highly recommend this product, yes it’s on the pricey side but it is worth every penny. Five *****
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight
I now have this saddle on my road bike and cyclocross bike and will be adding a third for my mountain bike in due course. They take a couple of rides to set up but are without doubt the most comfortable saddle I've sat on.
Pros: Comfortable
ISM did a great job and i'm happy to be part of it.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
I first bought an ISM seat for my tourer after my friend, and semi-pro cyclist (Jonathan Rankin) who does super endurance races recommended them. This is the 5th ISM I have bought (I have too many bikes clearly). I have this saddle on my Roubaix, and wanted it for my winter road bike. 100 mile rides are super comfortable, and no numbness in the balls or legs and feet. Does exactly what it says on the tinn. Buy with confidence.
Pros: High Quality, Durable, Good Fit, Comfortable, Rugged, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
I was getting pain in my sit bone from my saddle that came standard with my bike and also numbness in my feet with any extended rides. After doing some research online I decided on this saddle for my mountain bike. Since fitting the saddle and setting up as recommended with a small amount of tweaking to fine tune, Both issues have been resolved, delivery was quick and painless with great communication.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: some bikes may need to fit a set-back seat post
After several years and many different saddle designs, at last one that doesn't have me squirming after an hour of riding.
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality
I have fitted this saddle to my Giant Trinity and find it very comfortable, even on rides over 80 kilometres.
Pros: Comfortable, Great Value, High Quality
Nice seat for my Carbon Fat Boy. Used on long off-road rides and felt great!
Pros: Comfortable
Overall I'm very happy with the saddle. I will probably get one for my other bike after trialling it for a few more weeks. If feels like my body posture is better for it and it's more comfortable for between the legs.
Pros: Comfortable
At first I was sceptical but wow ..it has transformed my riding. A bit of trial and error with setup but when it's right it's right. No more pains whatsoever. And my position has not changed that much and my riding style is still the same, and no problems so far. Overall definitely worth it.
Pros: Adjustable, Good Fit, Versatile
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices
This is the only saddle that is comfortable when using my TT bike, all other saddles were too painful when using the TT bars. Can’t recommend it enough, comfortably, good value for money, sufficient padding.
I’m not saying it will work for everyone but for me this saddle has absolutely transformed my cycling life! After suffering for years with pressure point aches and pains I fitted this saddle to my Orange 5 and the difference was instant. A decent price too.
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Unattractive
My wife felt extremely comfortable this saddle switching from a standard design one with nose. Cover material is more than good, no sign of use even after many hours ridigin. In general I recommend ISM for quality of its construction (I have me too on TT and not the first one), even if the confort is always something really personal.
Once you fit that correctly you will ride as long as your legs can.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices, Unattractive
Bought this for the wife after she tried the ISM saddle fitted to my bike. She is very happy with it and finds it far more comfortable than a conventional saddle. Follow the ISM install videos carefully. Just be a bit careful if running a dropper post on a full suss as the tail of the saddle can rub the tyre at full travel if the post is dropped.
Pros: comfy
Cons: saddle/tyre interface if running dropper post
Great! I was experiencing problems in the undercarriage which required surgery. This ISM saddle has given me freedom from discomfort. I recommend it, I have one on all my bikes.
I would definitely recommend this saddle. This is very good quality and is also very comfortable. Having tried many other I would most certainly buy another!
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: Limited Color Choices
